Sweet & Spicy Carrots

Ingredients

  • 1 serving cooking spray
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp hot honey (such as Mike's Hot Honey)
  • 1 tsp grated orange zest
  • ½ tsp ground cardamom
  • ½ pound baby carrots
  • 1 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Prep: Preheat air fryer to 400°F / 200°C and spray basket with cooking spray
  2. 2 Mix: Combine melted butter, hot honey, orange zest and cardamom in a bowl. Reserve 1 tbsp of sauce
  3. 3 Season: Toss carrots in remaining sauce mixture until evenly coated
  4. 4 Cook: Air fry for 15-22 minutes, tossing every 7 minutes until carrots are tender
  5. 5 Finish: Blend orange juice with reserved sauce and toss with cooked carrots
  6. 6 Season: Add salt and pepper to taste
  7. 7 Serve: Optionally garnish with fresh herbs like basil or chives
