4 Italian sausage links (sweet or hot), cut into 2-inch pieces
2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced thick
1 large onion, sliced thick
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper

Italian hoagie rolls
Marinara sauce
Provolone cheese

Steps

    Cut sausage into 2-inch pieces. Toss with sliced peppers, onions, olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

    Spread in air fryer basket in a single layer.

    Air fry at 400°F for 14-16 minutes, tossing every 5 minutes, until sausage is browned and peppers are charred at edges.

    Check sausage reaches 165°F internal temperature.

    Pile onto Italian rolls with marinara and provolone, or serve over pasta.

Tip: Cut the peppers and onions thick so they don't overcook before the sausage is done. Use a mix of sweet and hot Italian sausage for the best flavor. The charred pepper edges are the best part — don't undercook.
