1 lb asparagus, woody ends trimmed
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Finish
2 tbsp grated Parmesan
1 tbsp lemon juice
Lemon zest
Red pepper flakes (optional)

Steps

    Snap or trim the woody ends off the asparagus. Toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

    Arrange in a single layer in the basket. Air fry at 400°F for 6-8 minutes until tender-crisp with charred tips.

    Thin spears take 6 minutes; thick spears need the full 8.

    Immediately top with Parmesan, lemon juice, and zest.

💡

Tip: Snap each spear near the bottom — it naturally breaks where the tough part ends. Don't overcook; asparagus should have a slight snap, not be mushy. Thick spears roast better than pencil-thin ones.
