Butter one side of each slice of rye bread.
Flip the bread butter-side down and spread Russian dressing on the inside of each slice.
Layer Swiss cheese, corned beef, well-drained sauerkraut, and another slice of Swiss cheese on two slices of bread, then close with the remaining slices butter-side up.
Place the sandwiches in the air fryer basket and cook at 375°F for 4-5 minutes until the bottom is golden.
Carefully flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until both sides are crispy and the cheese is melted throughout.
Tip: Squeezing the sauerkraut thoroughly in a clean kitchen towel is critical — excess moisture will make the bread soggy before it can crisp up.
