
Slice okra into 1/2-inch rounds. Toss with olive oil.
Mix cornmeal, flour, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Toss okra in the mixture until coated.
Arrange in a single layer. Spray with oil.
Air fry at 400°F for 12-14 minutes, shaking every 4 minutes, until golden and crispy.
Serve hot with remoulade or ranch.
Tip: Don't wash the okra right before coating — moisture makes it slimy. If you must wash, dry thoroughly first. The cornmeal gives authentic Southern crunch.
